Weather Layover

Dwayne went ashore right after the Abaco Cruisers’ Net broadcast.  The rental car did not have to be turned in until 11 AM and there was still some of Treasure Cay to explore.  The tour lasted less than an hour as the road was not very long and there wasn’t much to see but the up-scale houses built along the waterfront.  Dwayne headed back to the boat after returning the rental car.  He worked on the blog some and ate lunch.

Sand Fence (Not a Snow Fence)

After lunch, we headed ashore.  Dwayne and Frank spent much of the afternoon solving the world’s problems while Carla and Carol headed off to Coconuts and the beach.  Eventually, we all ended up on the beach for a few hours.  We returned to the marina in time for Happy Hour at the Tipsy Seagull followed by cheese and crackers aboard Hakuna Matata.

Powdery, White Sand - Not Snow

We ended the day reading and reviewing the charts as we will be leaving for Great Guana Cay in the morning.  The winds are finally shifting to the east and dying in intensity.  We are ready to move on after a week waiting for the weather to improve.  The forecast for tomorrow looks good – winds from the Northeast at 10-15 mph and 80 for a high temperature.  No rain.
