Maintenance and Relaxation

Monday, November 28. We changed the engine oil and fuel filters in the morning. We discovered we could no longer secure the cover to our raw water strainer because corrosion had stripped the threads on the post and wing nut to such an extent they would no longer hold. Dwayne will get a die and attempt to cut new threads for a nut a size smaller than the original. This currently looks like the easiest fix.

Our Yanmar

Carla spent the afternoon getting her hair cut and permed. She was real happy with the outcome. She looks 10 years younger. A perfect do for the holidays.

Dwayne backed up the computer and other electronic devices while Carla was getting more beautiful. He also spent time working on the Bahamas plans.

Tuesday, November 29. Dwayne spent several hours running around Georgetown trying to find all he needed to repair the raw water strainer. No one business had everything required. He ended up buying a die and file at a hardware store, a die wrench at a different hardware store and the nut to match the new threads at Fastenal. The good news is that the job was done without any other problems. What should have been a quick fix took hours.

Carla did laundry while Dwayne was running around visiting hardware stores.

We spent the remainder of the day relaxing and watching a movie.
