Atlantis

We were planning on leaving today; however, the weather didn’t look good for an overnight to the Berrys due to high winds from the south and later west.  The Berrys offer little, if any, protection from west winds and most of the cays are uninhabited.  You are really on your own in the Berrys.  Winds were predicted to reach into the 20 plus mile per hour range.  So, we decided to stay in Nassau for two more days waiting for better weather to travel north.  Sunday looks like our best bet to depart.

Dwayne is Not As Big as the King of the Sea

Carla made a wonderful breakfast of pancakes and ham.  We stayed on the boat until mid-afternoon.  Carla read while Dwayne worked on the blog and organized photos on the computer.  We went to Anthony’s Restaurant not far from the marina for a late lunch and to use the wifi as our BTC connection was very poor.  We were at lunch for almost two hours as we ate while accessing the internet to check mail, post to the blog and check on the news.  We returned to the boat to drop off our electronic devices before heading back to Atlantis for a long walk through the grounds.

Atlantis Resort - Mariners Landmark

It was after 4 when we left for Atlantis.  We wandered the resort exploring parts of it we hadn’t yet visited.  The most interesting stop on our day's outing was Dolphin Cove which is where the dolphins swim and interact with guests.  We sat for almost an hour resting, drinking cool water and watching the dolphins at play.  We stayed until feeding time and then left to get our own supper.  We headed to the Marina Village for refreshments and food.  Dwayne got a vanilla malt and Carla ordered a coke float.  We shared some Reuben sliders with a side of Bahamian mac and cheese (not to be confused with American style mac and cheese).  Our stomachs were full and we were glad to get back on the boat for a peaceful night.
