Working and Napping

We spent the morning re-rigging our reefing system to reduce friction and checked the reefing lines for wear. The winds were forecast to be in the mid-teens and we planned to sail to Little Neck Bay and anchor there for the evening.  So, we took advantage of the calm morning to make sure we would be able to quickly reef if the winds exceeded the forecast.

We also wanted a pump-out before leaving Port Washington. When we called for the pump-out boat, we were informed they do not do pump-outs on Wednesdays. So, with the winds building and no pump-out, we decided to stay one more night at Port Washington and get the pump-out on Thursday morning. It was then time for a nap. We slept for several hours.  We both went to work again when we woke.  Carla broke out the teak oil and worked on our flag staff and woodwork in the cabin. After dinner, she polished stanchions.  Dwayne worked on our travel plan and read some.

The day ended with races on the Bay. We watched. It must be Wednesday.
