Boston - Tea Party Museum, Old State House, Faneuil Hall and Quincy Market

We started our morning tours with a visit to the Boston Tea Party Museum. This museum was voted the #1 museum in Boston and for once the #1 was indeed the #1. We had a fabulous, fun time posing as Indians and throwing tea into Boston Harbor. As we entered the meeting hall we were given our identity and a feather for our Indian disguise.

We heard rousing speeches at the Meeting Hall (Dwayne even added his damnation of taxes on windows). We were so fired up that we took an oath of secrecy and joined the Sons of Liberty. The Meeting Hall was filled with many cries of "Huzzah" and "Fie" accompanied by foot stomping and fist pumping. Thoroughly aroused, we stuck feathers in our hats and marched to the wharf where we boarded one of the tea ships. Carla was among the first to throw tea overboard. When our work aboard was done, we slipped away to Abigail's Tea Room for our alibi were we sampled tea made from each variety of tea found aboard the ships we had just raided. If you go to Boston, join the Sons of Liberty and throw some tea into the harbor.

We spent the rest of the day hiking through the historic district and visiting some of the historic sites. We had a guided tour of the Old State House. We ended the day at Faneuil Hall and Quincy Market. The US Air Force "Rhythm in Blue" band played jazz and blues music for the crowd in front of Faneuil Hall. We were lucky to get seats on the steps before the concert began. It was a real treat to hear some old Glen Miller standards played by a live band.
