Warderick Wells - Day 4

The heavy rain we experienced washed all the salt off the boat.  Carla took this opportunity to wax and polish Foreign Affair.  A fair number of people were doing their laundry using the fresh water they caught in their dinghies during the rain storm.  Everyone was in a good mood since the sun was shining and we were able to get out of the confines of our boats.  Boat chores done, we headed off to snorkel in a spot called “The Coral Garden” due to the large number and variety of coral that are in a small area not far from the Ranger Headquarters.

Coral Garden - Warderick Wells

There were two other dinghies tied to the small moorings at “The Coral Garden” when we arrived.  Everyone wanted to take advantage of the slack current at low tide.  We were soon in the water and having a wonderful time exploring this amazing coral field.  The water was gin clear and cool but not cold.  We spent a good hour drifting and diving to get a good view of the variety of life below us.  It was a wonderful experience.

Bill and Elaine joined us aboard Foreign Affair for sundowners and dinner.  Carla made a tip steak and new potatoes.  Elaine brought over a lettuce salad and bottle of red wine.  We had a pleasant visit while watching the sun go down before moving to the main salon for our meal.  A few minutes before 9 PM, Bill announced it was time for him and Elaine to head back to Triumph as it was getting late.  Bill reminded us, “That 9 PM is the Cruisers’ Midnight.”  We wished them a good night but we stayed up until 10.  It was a wonderful day in the Bahamas.
