Grampians to Apollo Bay

We had a brief visit from Karen, our B&B hostess, prior to our departure.  Dwayne asked her about the many sounds which he heard last night.  She did her best to try to identify possibilities among which were:  sheep, alpacas, possums, fox, dog and numerous birds most of which we had never heard of before.  Karen showed us her garden which provides some of their food for the winter, as well as, in season.  Shortly after 10, we were off on our way to the Great Ocean Road.

Flatlands

The road from Dunkled/Hamilton to Apollo Bay meandered through flatlands and rolling hills.  Sheep and beef cattle were the primary livestock observed.  Occasionally, we saw dairy cows grazing but mostly it was sheep, thousands of sheep.  Trees were interspersed among the grazing areas and provided shade for the animals.  Long rows of trees delineated property lines.  The roads were much wider and better maintained than those we experienced in the Grampians.  We made good time and soon were on the Great Ocean Road driving along Australia's Shipwreck Coast.

Enjoying a Walk on the Beach

We ended the day at a wonderful beach-side resort with laundry facilities.  Dinner, then laundry, then wine.  The end of another wonderful day in Australia.
