Legoland and Sea Life Aquarium

It was another fun day celebrating a missed birthday with Dwayne’s grandson.  He wanted to go to Legoland and the Sea Life Aquarium.  On the way we made a quick stop at McDonald’s for breakfast.  Legoland was jumping with kids having a great time being creative and cooperative as they played.  The 3D movies were one of the highlights but our favorite was the laser ride where you try to defend yourself with laser guns against various Legoland villans.

We went to Town Topic for lunch.  It is another old-school diner with great food (Established 1937).  The pork tenderloin sandwiches are superb and they also have tasty malts and fresh pies.  Our kind of place.

Getting a Closer Look at Sea Life Aquarium

We were off the Sea Life Aquarium after lunch.  Exciting stuff for young boys: sharks, sting rays, sea horses, jelly fish, horseshoe crabs and hundreds of beautiful fish of all colors and sizes.  Of course, the “touching pool” was an exciting experience for everyone.  Many of those who put their hands in the water were surprised to discover rays are silky and starfish are not as crusty as most would think.  A big hit with the kids was being able to use an electronic tablet to color a fish or other sea creature which when completed it would appear swimming on a wall size screen as if in the ocean.
