Groceries and Uber

We ate breakfast and listened to the news on the radio before heading in to St. Augustine to pick up our new macerator pump for our sanitary system and fresh water pump for our galley sink. We needed milk and bread as well.

We stopped at a few shops while on our way to First Mate to pick up our pumps. Carla purchased a couple of items for grandkids. Dwayne bought an extra 5 gallon diesel can at Ace Hardware. We also stopped at Dunkin Donuts so we would have something aboard for breakfast.

The Team at First Mate Marine

The pumps were ready for us when we arrived at First Mate. However, we still had grocery shopping to do across the bridge at Publix. So, we left our donuts and diesel can at First Mate while we headed off to Publix. We caught an Uber to take us back to the boat. On the way, we stopped at First Mate to pick up our pumps and the things we left behind. Unfortunately, we needed connecting fittings for the macerator which First Mate didn’t have in stock. So, Uber took us to West Marine to get the fittings. Then, it was back to the marina. The Uber driver got an over-sized tip for waiting while we made our stops along the way.

Carla made dinner while Dwayne prepared to replace the macerator. It was soon discovered the T-fitting bought at West Marine could not be attached to the macerator without an extension fitting. As a result, the project was put off until the necessary parts could be obtained.

We watched an episode of Bonanza and went to bed. We won’t be leaving St. Augustine tomorrow as planned.
