Miami Marine Stadium Anchorage to No Name Harbor Anchorage (Bill Baggs State Park)

We sailed down Biscayne Bay to No Name Harbor to anchor for the evening in anticipation of an early morning departure through the Cape Florida Channel and on to the Hawk Channel.  Bob was at the helm most of the day.  We sailed with one reef in the main and a 100 per cent genoa as the winds were in the high teens and low 20s.  Of course, we had to beat our way to the harbor.

No Name Harbor was pretty crowded with boats waiting for a good window to make their passage to the Bahamas.  We entered the harbor and docked at the pump-out station to pump-out and ask others on the dock about making a passage through the Cape Florida Channel and what were their intentions. We eventually anchored abreast of Gypsy Wind, a red sloop we've seen many times before on our journey south on the ICW.  Wally Moran writes articles for sailing magazines and gives seminars on cruising to support himself while living aboard Gypsy Wind.  He lead the Sail to the Sun Rally sponsored by Watereway Guides down the ICW and our paths crossed several times (St. Marys, GA for Thanksgiving and later in Amelia Island/Fernandina, FL). We didn't see Wally this time; however, we did notice his dinghy at the dinghy dock when we went ashore for dinner at the Boater's Grill.  He was probably out walking his dog.

After dinner, we returned to our boat and watched a movie before heading to bed.
