Vero Beach

We slept in still recovering from our overnight Gulf Stream crossing.  We find it a challenge to stay up all night as we are not as young as we used to be when we could party hardy into the early morning hours.  We are almost “real cruisers” as we have heard: nine o’clock is midnight for “real cruisers”.  We usually turn in between 10 and 11.

We treated ourselves to brunch at the Lemon Tree Restaurant.  We arrived at 11:30 and had to wait for a table.  It was worth the wait.  Carla ordered a Caesar salad and Dwayne had the baked ham and brie on focaccia bread.  Of course, we were offered a complimentary scoop of sorbet for dessert.  The Lemon Tree is always busy as it provides quality food at a reasonable price served with a smile (and a scoop of sorbet).

The afternoon was devoted to re-provisioning.  Our food locker and refrigerator were nearly empty.  Carla did a fine job of stocking up for our Bahama cruise.  We always had something good to eat on hand and didn’t waste anything due to spoilage.  We filled the rental car trunk with enough food to get us back to the Chesapeake.  All we should need to purchase on the way is milk and bread.  Of course, Carla did the laundry as well before relaxing for the evening.
