Chesapeake City Landing to Mariner's Wharf, Elizabeth City, NC

Elizabeth City was very welcoming.  The city has free slips and docks right downtown.  There are no services, i.e. electric, water, pump-out or fuel but you can stay up to two nights as guests of the city.

The slips are marked for width and you are expected to take the narrowest slip you can fit your boat into.  We were in a 13 foot wide slip with our 12 foot 6 inch beam (3 inches of clearance on either side of the boat).  It was definitely a “snug” harbor.

We went out for dinner at a nice restaurant on Main Street which was a short walk from our slip with the crews from “Valiant” and “Do Wah Diddy Diddy”.  After dinner, Janet and I went to the Elizabeth City Arts Center where the local community theater troupe entertained us with a wonderful performance of the play “Exit Laughing”.  It was a great way to end the evening.
