We bought week long MTA tickets and three day Big Bus tickets. Today we took the subway to Times Square, got on the Big Bus for the "Downtown Tour". We went to the Financial District for a walking tour after the bus ride. We finished our day at Fraunces Tavern where we toured the museum and had a cheese, fruit and meat plate for happy hour before boarding the Staten Island Ferry and heading back to the boat.

The weather was great - sunny and warm. It was not too crowded on Times Square where we boarded The Big Bus. The "Downtown Tour" was interesting and gave us a chance to see much of lower Manhattan without having to worry about traffic. The highlight of the day was our visit to the Fraunces Tavern which is not only of historic importance but also a terrific tavern/restaurant. The upstairs museum was very interesting and well done. We intend to visit again if we happen to be nearby on a Saturday or Sunday when it is not crowded. It was a great place to relax at the end of our day.
